Indian Direct Selling Association widely known as IDSA is the most popular committee in the Indian Direct Selling Industry. IDSA has a long list of member companies including giant MLM Companies like Amway, Modicare, Tupperware, and etc.

In this post, we will know about IDSA and its member companies which are called ordinary members of the IDSA. Many people assume IDSA is a government entity, which it is not, and search for IDSA No 1 Company.


IDSA Company List

IDSA started in the year 1996 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Later, in the year 1998 its head office shifted to Delhi.

IDSA is an autonomous, self-governing body that was formed by Amway, Avon, and Oriflame. Ironically, an organization called ‘Indian’ is started by three foreign companies.

The first IDSA managing director was Mohan Krishnan. IDSA is a member of WFDSA (World Federation of Direct Selling Association)



The main objective of IDSA as well as FDSA (Federation of Direct Selling Association) is to become an intermediate between Direct Selling Companies & Government that promotes healthy business practices.

IDSA and FDSA both organizations actively participated in the formation of the central government’s direct selling guidelines which was launched in 2016.

IDSA forces to follow some strict criteria to become their member, which we will discuss further.

Associate Member

Direct Selling Companies are called ordinary members, rather than them IDSA also has one associate member which is not a Direct Selling Company. Strategy India is a direct selling consulting firm and only associate member of IDSA.

IDSA Membership Criteria

Any Direct Selling Company which is on the list of legal Direct Selling Company in India and follows direct selling rules can apply for the membership of IDSA via their official website.

IDSA associate member companies have to pay annual membership fees which vary according to the company’s turnover. You can check membership fees in the below screenshot.

    You have mentioned that vestige is better than Amway. But you have not compared quality of product. Amway product are far better than other MLMs.. as per use
    But product of other companies are very costly and quality is not better than tradional market products.
    So Pl make comparison technically with quality original production cost and profit margin of each product for each company. I have done in case of vestige they are not good.
    Also tell why IDSA has removed vestige from his list…

    • I already mentioned in comparison that, Amway provides good products. But you can’t force someone to but Mercedes when their budget is just to buy a Maruti.
      Secondly, I am not favoring vestige and any other MLM company about which I have mentioned on this site.

      And the answer to your last question, I also don’t know the actual reason for removal. But rumor says, there is collapse between Vestige & Amway. Amway is in the founder committee therefore they removed vestige. But most importantly, it is not compulsory to be an IDSA member and there is nothing wrong.

  14. NV SHOPPE SALES AND MARKETING P LTD IS THIS A LEGAL MLM COMPANY… BUT IT DOESN’T HAVE IDSA CERTIFICATE AND I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANY OF THE DIRECTOR S LEADING FROM ANY SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM WITH THERE BUSINESS PLAN .
    I am also joined this mlm company but i am not clear whether I should work for this company or not..

  21. Sir astro wellness, my share well, altos,kya ye saari companies IDSA aur fdsa me registerd hain .aur jin Company ka inme registration nahi rahta to kya unke bhagne ke chances jyada rahte hain kya.
